The Message of Fatima in the words of Pope Francis
The first of four videos produced specially for the purpose of Pope’s visit
The Message of Fatima is the subject of the first of four videos produced by Rome Reports specially for the purpose of Pope’s visit and to be distributed until the beginning of the Holy Father’s pilgrimage to Fatima, on the 12th and 13th of May.
Rosary, Peace and God are the three other subjects.
The films are based on excerpts from the Memoirs of Sister Lucia dealing with these subjects and are completed by declarations from Pope Francis, pronounced on various occasions and linked to the same topics.
“Oh, my Jesus! This is for love of You, for the conversion of sinners, for the Holy Father, and in reparation for the sins committed against the Immaculate Heart of Mary” these are the words of Jacinta, recorded by Sister Lucia in the First Memoir, supporting the first film, in which Pope Francis recalls that Virgin Mary asked the three Little Shepherds for prayer, penance and conversion.
The videos, in Portuguese and English, last between two and two and a half minute and will be available on the visit and on the Shrine’s official pages as well as on the social networks.
The objective is to remind that Pope Francis comes to Fatima to join to the pilgrims who are praying there “with Mary, for Hope and Peace”.
The initiative comes together with a series of others, promoted by the Shrine, with the objective of presenting pilgrims speaking about Fatima in the first person.
Among these initiatives, it is worth mentioning the Vozes do Centenário (Voices of the Centennial), produced in partnership with Rádio Renascença, and the Mural de Testemunhos (Mural of Testimonies) produced in partnership with the Instituto Politécnico de Leiria.
The Vozes do Centenário project, which started on the 2nd of February, consists in short videos produced by Rádio Renascença, lasting more or less one minute each, presenting 100 testimonies of Fatima pilgrims, from the most various quadrants, from politics to sport, from performing arts to literature, without forgetting the Church itself.
Over a 100-day period, until the 12th of May, stories of particular relationships to Fatima are narrated, based on the experience of faith that each of the protagonist is searching for and is experimenting on his way to the Shrine of Fatima.
The Vozes do Centenário come together with other anonymous pilgrims’ testimonies, yet with a face, that are peregrinating to the Shrine of Fatima, and are captured by the camera of the Mural de Testemunhos project – Fatima and me, an online mosaic in which a number of pilgrims can tell the experience of faith they lived in that place.
Available from the 8th of December at the address muraldetestemunhos.fatima.pt and through all the year of the Centennial of the Apparitions, the Mural, permanently actualized, currently includes 83 testimonies, from Portuguese or foreign pilgrims, priests and religious.
The construction of the Mural, as well as the gathering of all the testimonies, has been completed in the context of the Media and Communication course of the Escola Superior de Educação e Ciências Sociais, of the Instituto Politécnico de Leiria, also in charge of the edition and post-production of the videos.
