Child miraculously cured assists to the canonization of Francisco and JacintaFamily will make a statement on the miracleThe brazilian child whose miraculous cure was obtained through the intercession of Francisco and Jacinta Marto, a miracle recognized by the Pope that was the motif for the canonization of the two seers, will be in Fatima on the 13th of May, accompanied by the family. On the 11th of May, the family will make a statement in Fatima on the miracle, being available to talk to the media, attending the canonization of the two Little Shepherds on the 13th. Until then, the family will not give interviews nor statements, for they intend their testimony to be given at the Shrine of Fatima. Being a minor, the identity of the child and the exact details of the cure are reserved and cannot be disclosed by the Postulation for the Cause of Canonization of the Saints. The canonization was approved on the 23rd of March, when the Vatican announced that Pope Francis had recognized the miracle attributed to Francisco and Jacinta, the last step of a process initiated 65 years ago. The recognition of a miracle received through their intercession after the beatification is a process under the responsibility of the Congregation for the Causes of the Saints, regulated by the Apostolic Constitution Divinus Perfectionis Magister, promulgated by John Paul II in 1983. The decision of the experts or scientific commission on the acceptation of the miracle was later analyzed by the commission of theologians who recommended that the Congregation for the Causes of Saints accepts it. The decree released by the Congregation declaring the two blessed saints was then submitted to the approval of Pope Francis, which came to happen on the 23rd of March this year. The canonization is the confirmation by the Church that someone is worthy of universal public cult and presented to the believers as intercessor and model of holiness. The liturgical feast of Francisco and Jacinta, until now at the diocesan level, is held on 20th of February, the day of Jacinta’s death.
